Malakoff, TX is located approximately 65 miles southeast of Dallas on Highway 31.  You'll find numerous items to keep you busy in our small town.   We are conveniently located nearby beautiful Cedar Creek Lake.  We have antique shops offering unique items at very affordable prices. 
The Malakoff Historical Society & Museum is open at 207 E. Main.  This beautiful home was built in 1921 and looks much today as it did back then  The Bartlett House is under construction, and their aim is to get the gardens of the thirties up and blooming. 
Malakoff is home to the KCKL/KLVQ Big Bass Tournament that is held the last weekend in March.
This year the Annual Cornbread & Scarecrow Festival will have events going on all over town!  The event will be held starting at 9am on October 22nd at the Malakoff Community Center, 504 North Terry.  Merchandise and Food Vendors be onsite.  Beans and Cornbread lunch benefitting Faith in Action.  Old favorites are returning: the Cornbread Cook-off, the Hat Contest, the Pet Contest and the 5K Run.   Outside lots of games, more vendors, antique cars, garage sales and more all at the Cornbread & Scarecrow Festival. Downtown on Terry St., the antique shops will be open.  There will be live music from the group "Southbound", a motorcycle show and the East Texas Jeep Collective will  be showing Jeeps Old and New.
